I welcome you and your beloved children to our program. This program has been specially designed to address the unique learning abilities of children with special needs.
This program will introduce students with special needs to the fundamental concepts of Catholicism and prepare students for the holy sacraments.
Your children will learn the special word of our Lord Jesus Christ.
They will be prepared for their Holy Sacraments and will be given every opportunity to learn about God’s love for all.
St. Philip’s embraces all families and their special needs child(ren) of all neighboring communities. We are dedicated to helping all children explore and learn about their faith, regardless of their disability.

St. Philip the Apostle Church, in a collaborative effort with parishioners and parents of children with special needs, has designed a program suited to fit the religious needs of this special population.
Each month will have a main theme and concentration. The lesson plans have been developed around the theme. Also, each month there will be a prayer that the children will be concentrating on.
Modifications and accommodations will be made for students that are preparing for their Holy Sacraments.
Our dedicated staff will strive to teach, inspire and encourage children with special needs by using a comprehensive multi-sensory hands-on approach.
Our Approach
When working children with special needs it is important to incorporate lessons addressed for all types of learners: audio, visual, kinesthetic. Our lessons are clear simple. We will use frequent verbal praise and we will always emphasize abilities and not DIS-abilities. We will use hands on activities that reinforce the lesson and incorporate all senses. Children with special needs learn in variety of ways. Therefore, our lessons will reach visual, auditory and tactile learners. Songs will be used to summarize and reinforce lessons.
